This is my first artwork soo..BE GENTLE!! haha anyway, this is Ra from my story which is yet unnamed. It's an African themed story based a lot on Kemetic (Egyptian) culture but also a lot on other African cultures as well. Egypt wasn't the only good one lol. All the main characters in my story are members of my family. Mom, dad, brothers, sister, aunt. Sketched, inked and then colored in photoshop 7.0. I have a lot of things I need to work on in this picture but I liked it anyway

Nice colors and skin tones!.....It still needs some work on the proportion and shadows of some fatial features......I also would suggest you to leave more room in front of the subject and less on the back.

I think you should draw from life for a while. It's like a rocket fuel for boosting (learning) human anatomy. Practise more buddy

The colours suit the African theme well. It's very warm and sunny. Nice hair!

About the anatomy: the eyes are not totally on line. In order to check if the eyes are on line with each other (it is often hard to see if they are while drawing), you can use a ruler or another straight object. Make sure it's alligned horizontally with the drawing paper, and see if one of the eyes is placed too high or low compared to the other.

The nostrils are way too small too breathe with... They are like two tiny holes in the nose. Make them larger! And make the ear stick out more from the head. Ears don't lie that flat towards the head.

Good luck with your studies! I hope to see more artworks with Egyptian themes from you.

haha! yeah, I see what you're saying now about the nose and everything. It looks like slits....like the animorphs haha.
