Peace, Love and (insert something that'll go nice
FIRST OFF LET ME START BY SAYING THIS SITE IS AMAZING. I've been browsing through at work since I have nothing to do here lol and I finally decided to confirm my account. Well, about me...here goes.
The name is already up there so you know that lol, born and raised in the U.S., African American, likes music, especially neo-soul music and all types of art. I'm currently a junior at a Prep School in Jersey and I'm hoping to go on to a school for the arts, to go into performing and drawing. I love history, and I hate how people tend to twist the facts about other groups, especially about Africa. I'm more than proud of what I am, and it bothers me how much we have been lied on and how much of our culture was attributed to outside forces. As if dark, beautiful skin couldn't create remarkable feats displaying the limits of human capacity. Especially the Egyptians, who were indeed black Africans until waves of invasions came in. The name of Egypt wasn't even Egypt, it was actually called KMT or Kemet. Which in Kemetic meant "Black Land." Egypt was a name derived from by the Greeks, and then later called EGYPT by Englishmen. Most Egyptians you see today are Arab, and not the original, ancient people who lived there. Moreover, some Egyptian artifacts are even said to not be real, attributing to the lies. The West and America had a funny way of creating false images... Boy do I hate lies.
Sorry for the rambling but I love different cultures from around the world, and I love people. We're all so complex. We can shape our environment, we can think of an idea and put it to work, we can shape the destiny of a whole planet. People continue to fascinate me. There's some horrible ones out there but I have faith in humanity. One day we'll see the error of our ways....maybe....no?...ok lol
Arican, Indian and Japanese culture fascinates me the most. The majority of my artworks revolves around that. Most of my artwork is going to be about cultures and people from around the world in a fantasy setting, and a lot of the drawings are of characters from my two comics that are slow in the making. I just started with anatomy so you'll see mostly headshots until about September. By then I hope I will have gained enough insight to the human body to put it into motion well. I do really like critique because it makes me stronger in my work, as long as it's constructive. So as soon as I get some anatomy pictures up, I'll add them and hope for the best haha. I tend to lean towards a comic book/realism approach to my artwork. I used to like anime a lot but I can't stand it now. Except for the likes of Cowboy Bebop and things like that. I draw my inspiration for my pictures from video games, life, nature, anything I can get my eyes on and since I've been coming here all these fellow artists who have the same kind of passion. You'll probably see a lot of Guild Wars related stuff coming up too for all you Guild Wars fans. But, if I seem like someone cool to talk to then hit me up on my screename on AIM! I like to talk to people , but especially people who actually have something to say . Well, hopefully you'll enjoy viewing my art as much as I enjoyed making it. And if you read all of this...then you should go out and find something to do lol just kidding.
PEACE
